Overview
The Cricket Club Statistics widget is a full statistics hub that appears automatically on your club's PlayHQ Website. As soon as your club's website exists, the widget connects to your official PlayHQ competition data and builds your stats centre for you — there's nothing to set up and no spreadsheets to maintain.
The widget has five tabs: Leaderboards, Batting, Bowling, Fielding and Club history. A season selector lets you view a single season, or switch to All Seasons to see your club's entire history in one place — career leaderboards, all-time averages and milestones spanning generations of players.
From any tab, you can filter results by team, open a player's profile to see their career and season-by-season records, and export any table to CSV to drop straight into an awards night or season report. The widget is fully responsive and matches your club's website branding automatically.
:warning: Important: The Statistics widget is currently in beta. It's available to a limited number of New Zealand Cricket community clubs, with a lighter version rolling out to Cricket Scotland community clubs. It is not available to Cricket Australia organisations, and no general availability date has been set.
What you'll need before it appears on your site
Required information
Before the Statistics widget appears, make sure:
- Your club's PlayHQ Website is live
- Your club's competitions run on PlayHQ, so official results and scorecards feed the widget automatically
- Your club is part of the New Zealand Cricket or Cricket Scotland beta rollout — the widget is enabled per club as beta access is granted, and CA organisations are not eligible in this release
There's no manual data entry required — once your website exists and your club is part of the beta, the widget builds itself from your existing PlayHQ competition data.

Finding and navigating the Statistics widget
Follow these steps to explore your club's statistics:

Open your PlayHQ Website
Go to your club's PlayHQ Website in a browser. The Statistics section appears in the site navigation once the widget is live for your club.

Choose a statistics tab
Select Leaderboards, Batting, Bowling, Fielding or Club history to view that category of stats.

Select a season
Use the season selector to view stats for a single season, or choose All Seasons to see career leaderboards, all-time averages and milestones across your club's full history.

Filter by team
Narrow any table down to a specific team within the selected season using the team filter.

Open a player profile
Click a player's name to open their profile drawer, showing their career record and a season-by-season breakdown.

Export a table to CSV
Click Export CSV on any table to download it exactly as shown — ready to paste into an awards night or season report spreadsheet.
Once exported, you can use the CSV in any spreadsheet tool to prepare presentations, honour boards or season summaries without re-entering a single result.
Managing your club's Statistics widget
Because the widget is zero-setup, there's nothing to configure — but a few things are worth knowing while it's in beta.
My club hasn't seen the widget appear yet
The Statistics widget is being rolled out progressively to New Zealand Cricket and Cricket Scotland community clubs during the beta. If your club has a live PlayHQ Website and is part of the beta rollout but the widget hasn't appeared, contact your sport's support team. Include the following in your request:
- Your organisation name in PlayHQ
- Your name and role at your organisation
- Confirmation your PlayHQ Website is live
- Your sport (NZC or Cricket Scotland)
My club plays in Cricket Australia competitions
The widget is deliberately not enabled for Cricket Australia organisations in this release. There's no action required — this isn't a fault, and no timeline for CA availability has been set.
A stat looks incorrect
The widget pulls directly from your official PlayHQ competition results, so an incorrect stat usually points to an issue with the underlying scorecard or result. Contact your sport's support team with the competition, round and player affected so the source data can be checked.
Important considerations
Beta status and communicating with your club
Since this is a beta release, keep a few things in mind when talking to players, families or committee members about the widget:
- Don't promise a general availability date or wider rollout timing — none has been confirmed
- Don't imply cross-club career tracking exists — statistics are specific to your own club
- Mention that gender filtering and match-level drill-down (linking a stat back to its scorecard) aren't available yet, but are being considered for future releases
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to enter our club's statistics manually? No. The widget builds automatically from your club's official PlayHQ competition data as soon as your website is live and your club is part of the beta. There's no spreadsheet and no manual entry.
Who can see the Statistics widget? It's public-facing, like the rest of your PlayHQ Website — anyone visiting your club's site can view it. Club Administrators don't need to grant separate permissions for people to see it.
Does this cost extra? No. The Statistics widget is included as part of your PlayHQ Website — it isn't a separate stats product you need to purchase.
Is this available to my Cricket Australia club? Not in this release. The widget is currently enabled only for New Zealand Cricket and Cricket Scotland community clubs.
What does the All Seasons view show? All Seasons turns your club's individual season records into one continuous history — career leaderboards, all-time averages and milestones across every season your club has played on PlayHQ.
Can we export the statistics tables? Yes. Every table in the widget has an Export CSV option, which downloads the table exactly as displayed for use in awards nights, season reports or honour boards.
Can we filter statistics by gender? Not yet. Gender filtering isn't available in this beta release but is being scoped for a future update.
Can we link a statistic back to the match scorecard? Not yet. Match-level drill-down with scorecard links isn't available in this release — this is planned for later platform work.
What if our club isn't in the beta yet? The widget is rolling out progressively to New Zealand Cricket and Cricket Scotland community clubs. If your PlayHQ Website is live and you believe your club should have access, contact your sport's support team.
