Overview
Game Slot allocation is the fastest way to allocate an entire Domestic competition season in one step. Rather than allocating each game individually, Game Slots let you assign a venue, playing surface (court/field), and time to a "slot" — teams then rotate through each round's slots automatically, so every team cycles through the same set of venues, surfaces, and times across the season.
The number of game slots created is based on how many games are played per round in each grade, as generated by the fixturing process. For example, if a grade plays 3 games every round, 3 game slots are created when that grade's fixture is created.
Important: Game Slots apply to regular-season fixtures only. Finals fixtures can't be allocated using Game Slots — allocate finals games individually from the List View, Calendar View, or Fixture View instead. Byes are also not counted as a game and won't appear in any Game Slot view.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between Game Slots and the other allocation methods? Game Slots allocate an entire regular season at once, rotating teams through a fixed set of venue/surface/time slots each round. The List View, Calendar View, and Fixture View allocate one game at a time.
Can I use Game Slots for finals? No. Finals games must be allocated individually using the List View, Calendar View, or Fixture View.
Why don't Byes show up as a game slot? Byes aren't counted as a game anywhere in PlayHQ, including in Game Slot views.
Can I use Game Slots for a Home & Away or Tournament competition? No, Game Slot allocation is available for Domestic competitions only.
How many game slots will be created for a grade? This is based on the number of games played per round in that grade, as generated by the fixturing process — for example, a grade with 3 games per round will have 3 game slots.
A game slot is showing red — what do I do? A red slot means it's clashing with another allocated game slot for that weekday. Open the Calendar View or List View and change the venue, playing surface, or time for one or both slots to resolve it.
