Overview
If your organisation uses a referee management platform that integrates with PlayHQ, you can submit match results directly into PlayHQ from within that platform. This removes the need for administrators to manually enter results post-match.
As the appointed referee, you are responsible for entering:
- Game scores (total score for each team)
- Period scores (including extra time)
- Player statistics
Note: Only the referee appointed to the match can access and submit results. Other officials (e.g. assistant referees) will not have this option available.
Before You Begin
- Device: Check with your referee management system whether mobile app entry is supported, or if a web application must be used.
- Timing: The referee management system controls when the results entry option will become active. Many require the scheduled match slot time to have passed, before enabling entry of scores. If the option appears unavailable or greyed out, wait until the allocated game time has elapsed, or contact your administrator.
- Access: Only the appointed Referee or Match Official position can access the PlayHQ results portal. If you cannot see the option, contact your administrator.
Accessing the PlayHQ Results Portal
From within your referee management platform, locate the relevant match in your appointments and navigate to the results entry option. This will securely open the match-specific results portal in PlayHQ.
Note: Each match has a unique, secure link. You will need to repeat this process separately for each match that requires results entry.
Entering Results
Once in the PlayHQ results portal, complete all four sections below.
Game Scores
- Click Game Results.
- Enter the total score for each team.
- Click Update Changes to save.
Note: Game scores cannot be partially saved. Complete this section after the final whistle. Half-time or extra time score breakdowns are entered separately under Period Scores.
For matches decided by Penalty Shootout or another result type:
- Next to Game Results, click Set Override Result.
- Select the appropriate result type.
- Click Update Changes to save.
For example, while scores appear 2-2 in a Football game, selecting Team A Penalty Shootout Win applies this results type to the team who won by penalty shootout. Without this, the match would be seen as a draw. Other options include where a team has Forfeited, or a game has been Abandoned.
Period Scores
Period scores are independent from game scores and can be entered separately.
- Click Edit next to Period Scores.
- Enter the score per period (e.g. Half or Quarter) for each team
- For extra time, click + Add Overtime/Extra Time and enter scores for that period.
- For additional extra time periods, click + Add Overtime/Extra Time again (e.g. +2, +3).
- Click Done.
To correct an entry, click the relevant field, amend the score, and click Update Changes.
Player Statistics
Scroll down to the team Line-Up sections.
- Select the Home Team.
- Click Player Stats next to the Line Up.
- Enter the stats per player, then click Done to save changes.
- Switch to the Away Team, and repeat these steps.
Note: Player stats are entered independently from Game Results. Both must be completed — player statistics do not roll up to the total game score.
After Entering Results
Return to your referee management platform to complete any remaining post-match administration.
Important: Game Results must always be entered, regardless of whether player statistics have been completed. Statistics do not roll up to the total game score automatically.
