PlayHQ operates on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, or any other device with a modern web browser.
This article outlines which browsers are officially supported and provides guidance for resolving common browser-related issues.
Supported Browsers
PlayHQ supports the following web browsers.
Note: The term "evergreen" refers to browsers that automatically update to future versions, rather than requiring manual updates (as was the case with older browsers).

Browser Updates
You should always use the most recent version of your preferred browser. Your browser should notify you if there is a new version available. If not, visit the provider's website to download and install the latest version.

Unsupported Browsers
To protect users, PlayHQ does not support these legacy and other browsers:
- Google Chrome - versions older than the latest 2 versions
- Mozilla Firefox - versions older than the latest 2 versions
- Microsoft Edge - versions older than the latest 2 versions
- Apple Safari - versions prior to version 10
- Internet Explorer (all versions)
Browser Compatibility Issues
When using an unsupported browser, you may see this warning banner:
There's a problem with your browser
Your browser is not supported or you have private browsing switched on. Try updating to a modern browser or switch off private browsing.

Troubleshooting Browser Issues

Update your browser
Make sure you're using the latest version of a supported browser.

Disable private browsing
PlayHQ requires cookies and other browser storage to function properly. Go to your browser's settings to disable private browsing.

Clear cache and cookies
If you've updated your browser and disabled private browsing but still see the warning banner, try logging out of PlayHQ and clearing your browser's cache and cookies.

Try another browser
If issues persist, try using a different supported browser, such as Chrome.
Device Compatibility for Electronic Scoring
Electronic Scoring has specific device requirements that differ from the general PlayHQ platform.

Common Browser Problems & Solutions
Pages not loading correctly:
- Try performing a hard refresh (see our Hard Refresh article)
- Clear your browser cache completely
- Try a different supported browser
Login issues:
- Make sure cookies are enabled in your browser
- Try clearing cookies for playhq.com and logging in again
- Check that you're not using private/incognito browsing
Mobile device issues:
- Ensure your mobile browser is updated to the latest version
- Try using the device in landscape orientation for better compatibility
- On tablets, request the desktop site version if the mobile site is having issues
