This article describes how to score a Two Day+ game in the admin portal.
To score a Two Day+ game, navigate to the Game Details page of the Game via the Game Day Section . A Two Day+ game has additional score fields to support two innings of a game. Similar to the One Day and T20 scoring fields, a Two Day+ game has Overs, Wickets and Runs for each team under each innings.
An Innings Closure dropdown field is also available in each innings to determine how the team closed their innings. The dropdown values available in each Innings are as following
Innings Closure Value | First Innings | Second Innings |
---|---|---|
All Out | YES | YES |
Compulsory Close | YES | YES |
Declared | YES | YES |
Follow On | YES | NO |
In Progress | YES | YES |
End of Game | YES | YES |
General Rules for scoring a Two Day+ Game
If one or more field (eg. Wickets) is populated for a teams inning , the supporting fields (Overs, Runs and Innings Status) must be filled to save the team’s score successfully. If one or more of the fields for a team is left empty, the box around that field will turn red and the score will not be saved.
A Two Day game will automatically go from Upcoming to In-progress when the start time of the game has passed. Another way to keep the game in Progress is by selecting the ‘In progress’ as an Innings closure value for the team that is still playing at the end of Day 1.
The 2nd Innings score boxes will be locked until all the first innings score has been populated and none of the innings closure status = 'In Progress” which means 2nd innings score cannot be entered before first innings
The game cannot be saved when the following actions are done (the ‘Update and Save’ button will be disabled)
Two or more innings have the closure status of ‘In progress’
Two or more innings have the closure status of ‘End of Game’
Inputting incorrect format for a scoring field (i.e adding a value of 10.7 in the Overs field)
Modals will be presented in certain scenarios to allow admins to select if the game has been finalised or still in Progress. If ‘finalised’ is selected then the game will be saved as a finalised game with an outcome determined based on the scores entered, if ‘In progress’ is selected then the game will be saved as in progress with no outcome determined
Two Day+ Outcomes
Based on the scores entered, the number of innings played and innings closure status selected by admin, an outcome for a Two Day+ game will be determined once the game as been saved as final.
