Player points ensure competitions are balanced and avoid situations where teams stack themselves with the best players they can find/get to play, in order to have an unfair advantage in their grade level.

Enabling player points
Enabling player points will display on the admin portal, electronic scoring and (if set to visible) the PlayHQ discovery site. To enable player points:

Select the Competition Management main menu item, and then the appropriate Competition and Season tile, and then view the Grades tab.

Select the grade, then the Settings tab, and Game sub-tab.

In the Player points section, toggle on the setting and set whether to enforce a team total player points cap that will apply to the grade or not. If yes is selected, You will need to set the Team player points cap.

Update & Save to apply any change
Club admin access to enter points
Enabling Club admins access to player points can be set in the Club management settings.
Set the start date/time and end date/time to allow Club admins to enter and edit player points for their players. After the end date, Club admins will have read-only access.
Managing player points
Player points are available to edit for all players in a season, regardless of grade settings. This caters for players who sometimes participate in grades with player points enabled.

Within your chosen Competition and Season, select More via the menu.

Select Player points.
3. Enter player point values for players in the season and select Update Changes.
For AFL, if a player has multiple registrations or a season permit to the season, they will only show once on this list and only be able to assign player points once to the player that will apply to all their participant records
There are a number of filters available to help you find a team or specific player.

Player points enabled and team caps are enforced
Teams are given a team total player points cap via grade settings. Players, depending on their recent playing history are allocated points.
Association administrators can also override individual team total player point caps to increase or reduce the limit based on a teams success or if they require additional assistance.
When the team is selected, the lineup cannot go over the points limit to ensure the game is fair and the teams are evenly matched.

Player points enabled and team caps are not enforced
Players in teams are required to have player points via grade settings. Players, depending on their recent playing history are allocated points.
When the team is selected, players are required to have player points assigned. Players without assigned points can not be selected in the lineup.
When the team is selected in electronic scoring, players are required to have player points assigned. Players without assigned points can not be selected in the lineup.
When the team is selected via My Teams, players are required to have player points assigned. Players without assigned points can not be selected in the lineup.

Players player points history for previous seasons can be found within a participants profile in the statistics tab.
Participation Report (competition)
The competition participation report has a column called player point where the player points values assigned to a player are displayed. For more information on generating this report click here.
Player Points on the PlayHQ Public Site
If the player points visibility via grade settings is set to visible, player points will display on the public game centres.
