A favourite team, grade or association keeps showing an “Out of Bounds” error?
This message is displayed when an administrator has chosen to hide certain information from the public. If you are seeing this message and believe there should be access to the information or view in question, please contact the organisation or competition administrator directly to request access or clarification.
A favourite player of mine keeps showing an “Out of Bounds! This profile is private” error?
This message is displayed when a player has decided to set their profile to ‘Private’ within the system. For more information:

Home Page & Team Schedule

What is the Team Schedule on the home page?
The Team Schedule is a snapshot of your pinned, favourite team’s next games. In general, all games in the ‘Week Ahead’ (next 7 days) will show, and then your team’s next event (game or bye) in ‘Next Round’. Schedules are state specific, ensure you have the correct state or state body selected for the correct Team Schedule to show.

  Hot Tip!

The Team Schedule is not a full fixture for your team. To access a full fixture, navigate to the team’s home page. If your favourite team is not yet allocated to a grade, or does not yet have a fixture, this will be displayed as one tile in the "Next Round" section.

Why can’t I pin another team to the home screen?
Only ten teams (with a status of Active or Upcoming) are allowed to be ‘Pinned’ to home. Once ten teams have been pinned, no more will be added to the home screen. To edit which teams are pinned and which are not, simply edit your favourites list. You can unpin teams individually, or use the 'Edit' button to bulk unpin teams.
Why can’t I see a team’s fixture or their tile in the Team Schedule?
The Team Schedule is powered by favourite teams, so the team must be a favourite in your favourite team’s list to show games in the schedule. Teams are seasonal. When a new season begins, a new team is created in the system, and that team must be added again as a favourite.

If the team has this icon  the team is in a “Completed” season and you will need to find the new version of that team for the new season.

Teams only show in the context of their state or state body. Make sure the correct state body is chosen at the top of the app in order to see the teams affiliated to that state.
How do byes display on the Team Schedule on the home screen?

Sharing Content

What is sharing?
Sharing allows users to easily send information to other users using their phone's messaging service, or email, or any application that includes communication tools. Within MyHoops, users can share links to games, players, teams, grades, clubs and associations.
How do I share content?
Simply find the page or content you wish to share, whether it's a game, a player's profile, a team, a grade, a club or an association. Once there, use the 'Share' icon at the top of the page with the up arrow.

Teams

Do I need to favourite my team for each new season?
Yes, teams are seasonal. When a new season begins, a new team is created in the system, and that team must be added again as a favourite.
Why is a team that I play in, not showing in the ‘Teams’ list on my profile?
To have a team assigned to your profile in the Teams section, the competition administrator must allocate you to the team. Simply being selected for a game lineup will not add that team to your profile. Teams can still be added as a favourite and power the Team Schedule on the home screen without player allocation.

  Hot Tip!

Please contact the competition administrator or your club administrator if you have any questions or to ask if they can allocate you to a team.

Why does my team’s fixture say: There are no upcoming games for this team?
A team’s fixture or team tile on the Team Schedule will say “There are no upcoming games for this team” when a team has finished their final game of the season, or when they have finished their regular season games and the competition administrator has not yet assigned them to finals’ game.
Why does my team’s fixture say: There is no fixture available for this team?
A team’s fixture or team tile on the Team Schedule may say “There is no fixture available for this team” for a few reasons:
  • A team may not yet be allocated to a grade
  • A team may be in a grade that does not yet have a fixture
  • A competition administrator may not be ready to show the fixture publicly
  • A competition administrator may have chosen to hide the fixture for some reason

  Hot Tip!

If your team tile is showing this information, and you believe a fixture should be available, please contact the competition administrator. This contact information can be found by searching for your association via www.playhq.com.

Why does my team’s fixture say: Fixture has not yet been confirmed, dates and rounds are subject to change?
Competition administrators will hide fixtures and games when they are not confirmed and/or not ready to be released to the public. If you believe this is incorrect, please contact the competition administrator.
What does the completed icon next to my team mean?
The completed icon indicates that the team is in a season that has finished. If the team is playing again in a new season, a new team will be created in the system, and you must add that new version of the team as a favourite.

Grades

Do I need to favourite the grade for each new season?
Yes, grades are seasonal. When a new season begins, a new grade is created in the system, and that grade must be added again as a favourite.
What does the completed icon  next to my grade mean?
The completed icon indicates that the grade is in a season that has finished. If the same grade is used in a new season, a new grade will be created in the system, and you must add that new version of the grade as a favourite.

Associations

Why can’t I find an association?
Currently, only associations that use the PlayHQ competition management system will be found in the organisation search, and have fixtures, ladders, results and statistics available. Make sure the state that the association is affiliated with (ACT, Tasmania, Victoria, WA) has been chosen before searching.

Private Players

How do I hide my name or my child’s name from appearing in the app?
Your profile, or any of your children or dependant’s profiles, can be set to ‘Private’ by accessing the profile page after logging into PlayHQ.com.

Private profiles will not appear in any player search results and will not have an accessible profile page. The profile’s name will be hidden from public display in all areas including game line-ups, game statistics and grade statistics.

Why is my profile not appearing in player search, game centres or grade statistics?
If you cannot find yourself in player search or have noticed that your name is appearing as a “Private Player” in games you have competed in, it may be because your profile is set to ‘Private’ and is not visible to the public. To change your profile setting, please login to your profile via PlayHQ.com and follow the instructions to set your profile to ‘Public’. Ensure you are in the correct state/territory body, as players only show in searches of state bodies they are affiliated with.

Searching Players & Teams

Why can’t I find a player in player search?
There could be several reasons why a player may not appear in player search results including:
  • The player has set their profile to private. Their profile will be hidden from public view and will not be listed in the player search results
  • The search input does not meet the required criteria (e.g. incorrect spelling was used, the first name or last name was not included)
  • The player has never registered to a competition. Player search is only for competition registrations and does not include players who registered to programs (like Aussie Hoops)
  • The player has registered, but the registration requires approval by an administrator, and the approval has not yet happened
  • The person being searched has only registered for other roles such as coaches, team managers, or volunteer-based roles, so they will not appear in the player search results
  • The player is affiliated with another state/territory body. If the wrong state/territory body is selected, the player will not show in search results. For example, searching within the Basketball Victoria instance will not return any Basketball WA players. Ensure the correct state/territory has been selected before searching for the player. Note that if a player has happened to register to more than one state/territory body, they will need to be added as a favourite in each state/territory body.

  Hot Tip!

To find a player via ‘Search’ you must enter both First and Last name. Make sure you are searching within the right State Body environment.

Why can’t I search for my team directly via search?
To find a team, you must first search for the Association that the team is playing in, or the club that the team is affiliated with. This is because there are thousands of teams to search for across the different state and territory databases (BACT, BTas, BV, BWA). Once you have found the Association or Club, you can then select the relevant Competition, Season, and Grade to find the team you are looking for.

It's important to note that teams can also be found through a player's profile page, which lists all the teams that the player is currently allocated to.

If you are unable to find your team through search, please ensure that you have selected the correct State Body that the team is associated with, then the correct Association or Club, and that you have selected the correct Competition, Season, and Grade.

  Hot Tip!

Teams can also be found through a player's profile page, which lists all the teams that the player is currently allocated to.

Why am I unable to find my grade via search?
To find a grade, you must first search for the Association that the grade is in. Once you have found the association, you can then select the relevant competition and season to find the grade you are looking for.

It's important to note that grades can also be reached via a team. Inside a team page, there is a quick link to the grade the team competes in.

Game Centres & Statistics

How do I find the top scorers in the competition/grade?
Navigate to the grade where you wish to view the top stat leaders/scorers. Use the “Statistics” tab. Here there is a list of all players within the grade who have played at least one game and their corresponding statistics. Grade lists are sorted by Games-Played (high to low) but this can be changed by using the ‘Sort’ button at the bottom and choosing how you wish to sort the list

How do I find the top scorers in a game?
Navigate to the game where you wish to view the top scorers. Use the “Statistics” tab. Here there is a list of all players within the game and their corresponding statistics. Game Statistic lists are sorted by Player Numbers (low to high) but this can be changed by using the ‘Sort’ button at the bottom and choosing how you wish to sort the list.

How do I find my next game?
The easiest way to see your next game is to add the team as a favourite and 'Pin' it to home. Once added as a favourite, the teams next two games are shown on the Home screens - Team Schedule.

Other ways to find games is by accessing a Team’s home page, where the team’s full fixture is displayed, or by accessing the competition’s grade fixture.

Finally, a team’s games can be found by clicking on the profile of someone in the team, navigating to their Teams list and clicking into the team’s full fixture from here.

Live & In-Progress Games

Why do scores, play-by-play events, or the clock not appear for games that are “In Progress?”
Games that have commenced will have a status of either “In Progress” or “Live”.

A “Live” game means the game is underway and is being live-scored at the venue using the PlayHQ electronic scoring system. Real-time updates of scores, play-by-play events, the live clock, and statistics will sync within the app and users will receive the most up-to-date information.

An “In-Progress” game means the game is underway but is not currently being scored at the venue via the PlayHQ electronic scoring system. Games that never turn to ‘Live’ are generally scored on paper and results will be entered via an administrator at a later time. These games will not show any data in the play-by-play tab as it was not captured in the system

PlayHQ encourages venues to live score to enrich the participant experience on the app.
Why are the scores and statistics not updating in a Live game?
Live games will automatically update inside a game centre when line ups and statistics are visible. These feeds will populate scores in real time and you don’t need to do anything.

Watching a Live game’s tile on the home screen, a team fixture or inside a grade fixture, requires you to refresh your screen (pull-to-refresh) or navigate away and come back to get the updated scores.

  How do I refresh?

To refresh a page, pull down on the screen with your finger or thumb, and then release it. This action triggers the app to check for new information or updates and refreshes the content you are viewing.

Out of Bounds

Why am I seeing “Out of Bounds! The competition administrator has restricted access to this view”?
This message is displayed when an administrator has chosen to hide certain information from the public. If you are seeing this message and believe there should be access to the information or view in question, please contact the organisation or competition administrator directly to request access or clarification.

Device Compatibility

What devices does the MyHoops app support?
MyHoops is designed to support devices using iOS 13.0+ and Android 5.0+. MyHoops is optimised for smartphones and may not provide an optimal experience on tablets.
While the app is compatible with the above, performance may vary depending on the device's specifications, operating system version, and other factors.
